El Medio Ambiente

Por ser una Comarca altamente industrializada, todas las instituciones y empresas tienen programas de mejora sostenible y cuidado del Medio Ambiente.

Como ejemplo para los ciudadanos, el Ayuntamiento de Algeciras participa en una campaña para incrementar el reciclaje y que a su vez este sea mayor que el del año anterior.

Esta campaña tiene por nombre "Contenedor de Oro". El reto del "Contenedor de Oro" es una acción de Ecovidrio, en colaboración con ADESGAM, que pretende sensibilizar a los ciudadanos sobre la importancia de reciclar vidrio. El reto consiste en una competición, en la que cada mes el municipio que más recicle podrá llevarse el contenedor de oro y colocarlo en un lugar visible del casco urbano. Además al finalizar la promoción, el municipio del Campo de Gibraltar que logre incrementar más su tasa de reciclaje respecto al año anterior, conseguirá un parque infantil.

Se ha puesto en marcha también una web para enseñar a los mas pequeños de la casa a reciclar: "Dale de comer a Mr. Iglú"

As a highly industrialized region, all of the institutions and companies of Algeciras have programs for sustainable improvement and environmental care.

As an example for citizens, the city of Algeciras is involved in a campaign to increase recycling, and as a result this practice is higher now than it was last year.

This campaign is called the "Gold Container" challenge. The "Gold Container" challenge is an initiative of Ecovidrio, along with ADESGAM, which aims to raise public awareness about the importance of recycling glass. The challenge is a competition in which each month the town which has recycled the most receives the gold recycling container, which is then put in a visible place in the town. At the end of the promotion, the town of the Campo de Gibraltar that increases its recycling rate the most over the year gets a playground.

It has also launched a website to teach the youngest of the house to recycle: "Feed Mr. Igloo"
